Any perks to running a 19" vs 20"
any perks to running the 19" wheel from Apex vs a stock 20" if going to a SS 1LE set up for an 18 ss?

Seems like the biggest perk would be availability of certain tires in 19 that aren't available in 20. But that really depends on the type of tire you want to run and the type of use your car will see. For example, the best 200tw tires for many autocross classes have been the BFG Rival S and Birdgestone RE71R*. Those are available in 305/30/19, but not in a great 20" size. If you plan to keep running the OE Goodyears (which may not be far off the aforementioned cream of the crop), then stick with 20s.
*Right now, the fastest 200tw tire overall seems to be the Yokohama A052, which is not available in useful 19" sizes. They make a 285/35/20 that might work in a square setup on the stock wheel sizes, but it's awfully tall and a bit narrow in back. They make some good sizes in 18s.

As others have noted, weight, cost, availability of certain tires. Also, they ride better and have better protection of bending/cracking a wheel since there should be more sidewall of the smaller wheel.

I upgraded from the stock 18" wheels on my car to Stance 20's. I love the wheels although if I had to do it over again I would have gone with the 19's. Reason- weight.

The only real negative I think with the SS 1LE is that it's 20" wheels and not 19, as an example, the ZL1 1LE comes with 19. I use 19s as my winter wheels and tires and there's a noticeable difference in acceleration and nimble-ness. Don't get me wrong, I think the SS 1LE wheels are the best style of any camaro wheels, but I just wish they were the same thing, in 19". If choosing wheels, I'd go for something 19". I made a spreadsheet calculator so I could come up with the proper ratio and look at the offset to match the stock wheels. This way, I didn't change my ride-height and my wheels stick out the same amount as stock, despite being different width (my winters).
