I've never owned a GTR (or ZL1, for that matter). But, I have driven a GTR both on the street and track.

For the track - GTR hands down. You can get 99% of what the car has to offer with only about 80% of the effort. It's simply amazing. Yes, it's no longer "the best". But, I daresay it's one of the best, especially with a price-point of $60k.

For the street - I'd choose a Honda Civic over the GTR. The one I drove was on the softest setting, and even had underinflated tires. And I could feel every . . . single . . . crack in my spine. Keep in mind that I also drove a 2000 Trans Am and G8 with custom coilovers and poly/delrin bushings. It was just harsh.

Go to a Nissan forum and ask the same question. Bet I can guess the winning vote on that end.

Bottom line is the views here will be biased. And can you be sure the pros and cons provided here match your own?
Having been part of the GTR Life Forum for years, those guys are car guys. They don't make the GTR the end all be all. You will get a fair shake for the most part there.

Agreed. Most GTR guys have come from Zl1's, Z06's, McLarens, other top notch cars. They can respect and their opinion doesn't come from a fan boy opinion. Look, I love the GTR. But, you have to be real. The car is boring as hell. I was FBO E85 and I was tired of getting whooped on by Vettes. Haha, so, I bought a Z06. Anyhow, it is what it is. It's called Godzilla for a reason. It's still in my top 5 cars that I've ever owned.

I have to disagree with boring. I loved being able to punch it at any time without wheel spin. In addition, the firm ride, noisy DCT, and lack of sound deadening material made it the most raw car I have ever owned. Especially with downpipes and exhaust. What is boring is my 911 Turbo. BUT, it handles like noting else.

I feel like any auto could be pretty boring at times.
