lol. So, I have been wrestling with how to explain it but I think you nailed it.

On the other hand, I do like the rims and tires. Those will make there way on to my ZL1 as soon as they are available. I would bet that 50% of the 3 second improvement in time is due to the tires alone. If I can get that and not have to put the mutton chops on the front of my car and the ricer wing on the back...I am all in.

I'll let you work out your business, then, no criticisms. Keep it up, and congratulations!

If it's any consolation...consider that the weight savings they've achieved by opting to offer manual only, thinner glass, and utilizing DSSV suspension...means the car only weighs about 76 lbs heavier than a 1SS/1LE.

No, but I will say this. It has way more going on in the front than at the rear. I know that all they need is the wing for downforce, but because it's raised so high, it makes everything below it seems awfully plain and visually makes the rear end look awkwardly tall. Might look better with a blackout vinyl placed between / around the tail lamps like the 2016 "Performance" concept.

Here's a very rough Photoshop job. I think it makes the rear of the car look more planted and less tall. It also goes great with the dark wing, dark tail lamps, and dark 3rd brake light.

Sounds like a lot of guys here just need a 2SS with a supercharger.

They don't like the necessary requirements needed on a high speed track car.

Is everything ok? I thought I was on the Mustang forum for a moment.

Maybe they don't want a car that can actually turn? In which case, if you plan to only drive in a straight line, yes there are cheaper alternatives out there.

It also weighs 14 lbs less than the Z/28. If they have solved the LT4 cooling issues, this ZL1-1LE will be a terror. So much more power and tire on a much better platform

14 Z/28 3,837 lbs
17 ZL1 M6 3,883 lbs
18 ZL1-1LE 3,823 lbs

However, i don't want the attention that would come along with this thing. Just my opinion.
Said in other threads in the past...I'll say it here. If you want the pretty street car...get a ZL1. If you want the better "real" track car get this. You guys dogging it b/c of the canards and the big rear wing just don't seem to get it.

Have you seen the Viper ACR? This is the same thing.

and yet it will be the highest performing Camaro EVER. So keep on hating. I'm not saying you can't, but you know its going to destroy the former Z/28, GT350R...or whatever else that cost three or four times its price.

As much as I'd loved to see GM through an N/A engine in this car and pull out more weight, its just not in the cards. GM can't hit the HP number's they want (and pass emissions) without a DOHC engine, and its not ready yet.

I didn't think to cross-check the Z/28s weight - that's brilliant!

ACR looks absolutely ridiculous but goes like hell on the "track" if you care about that stuff. How many guys who buy Camaros, Corvettes, Mustangs, etc. are regulars at the road course venues?
