I don't think it would stay looking that pretty for long, even for those that swear by the catch can. You would probably end up taking it off and cleaning it every 1000 miles.
Nevertheless, it's pretty damn cool! Would be pretty neat to see the blades spinning in color! |

What would it be made out of? What about an impeller failure? I could see an impeller blasting through any plastic/glass straight through the hood, haha.

Veradel or Radel can handle the heat and probably the pressure. You can get clear valve covers. http://www.clearvueconcepts.com/
At 20k rpm an aluminum top won’t stop an impeller either. Funding: Need about $10k for a single cavity polished aluminum mold and about $50 per unit in raw material plus another $50/unit processing and packaging. Add another $50/unit customer acquisition if you can avoid Amazon’s 30% cut. Retail at maybe $500. Break even at 50 units, and a 50% gross margin if you can sell 100 units.
