Jlt vs Rotofab ?

I ran the rotofab on my last 6th gen both with stock intake and msd . My question is how is the jlt intake with stock intake or msd ? The cheaper price point and bigger tube and filter has peaked my interest on it . Also anybody have dyno numbers with the jlt ?

I started a thread on it a while back. Doesn't seem like it has proven to be any better.

I’ve had the jlt. sorry I don’t have any data to present, I have logs but with the weather changes I can’t tell anything from it. but if you’re running large throttle body with a msd I think it’s gotta make more power. The iats weren’t the best because of the lack of a sealed box but that was before the velossatech was available. That ramair thing really clears the heat out of that area well

This debate may be about to change again, since JLT is supposed to be releasing a new air intake for the Camaro. The date kept getting pushed back but last I heard was sometime in August, so hopefully soon.

Honestly I think the majority of air intakes don't make enough difference to matter, especially since the stock airbox was so good. The biggest differences are how heat soak affects them and thats why some "CAIs" actually perform worse than stock in real world testing. You can feed more and more air to your engine but in reality it can only use so much at a time, and if its hot air then its just going to hurt your performance.

On my car the JLT was worth plus 10 hp versus the Rotofab. I didn't know JLT was working on a new intake. Do you happen to know what the difference will be on this new version?

IMO everything that can be had in terms of intakes on the 6th gen has already been had. Take a Roto-Fab big gulp plus maybe a Velossa air intake snorkel for a clearer pathway, and that's pretty much the end unless one is willing to mangle their car, Cleetus McFarland style.

Even if another product might have 3-5 hp over this combo, which I have not seen yet but of course that doesn't mean it's impossible, that alone doesn't really move the needle.

I completely agree with the above. The difference in most is not even measurable at the track or on the street. Also forgot to mention but with my JLT intake on a high ram you are not able to use the heat shield which on most cars would negate the horsepower gain due to hotter intake temps. We fixed this by removing inner fender material and created air flow from the front to the rear cowl. Also I don't think on a bolt on car or stock car there would be any measurable difference on any quality cold air intake. As stated above.

I have a cold air inductions intake. It's really nice but sometimes Wonder If I should get something with a bigger tube.

Looks like JLT just released the new one. I saw this video last night on You Tube.
