Anyone else ghosted by their dealer after ordering a car?
I have bought and paid for a 2022 zl1. as far as I know and what Chevy tells me is it is Sitting in a lot in Lansing. well its been siting their for 3 weeks now. The issue is the dealer who Chevy tells me should update me on stuff wont respond to anything i send them. They wont respond to texts or e-mails if I call they are always busy and will return my call and never do.
I dont bother them much maybe a text once every three days and a phone call one a week. but i simply can not get them to return any info to me or answer anything at all. I guess they figure deals done no need to put any more effort into it. and why is it no one can tell me why my car has been sitting "in a lot" for over three weeks now? |

They can sell the car as soon as the dealer gets the full invoice. I bought mine 2 days before it was shipped to the dealership.

ordered it and yes did the paper work and got the financing. Because the car was suppose to be there in a week at the time. I was selling my car and wanted the tax savings and to transfer the tag so yes I did it all at one time with the car not on the lot. I want the car it was coming and i wouldn't have a chance at another cherry tint zl1 as the color is now discontinued not to mention the impossible act in even finding a zl1. My logic is I don't like it when it comes I flip it. The car will get here eventually im just aggravated by the dealer absolutely ignoring me. also the way the car market is now if you dont secure the car then someone else will get the thing.

If you have done the paperwork, and monies have been exchanged. I cant see how they could sell the car to anyone else. Thats a legal binding contract. I would just show up and see for myself, if I had a $70k car waiting for me.

OP, considering that the car still has to get to the dealership for inspection and cleaning I would advise you not to upset them...you don't want them getting mad for no reason and then taking it out on your ZL1. It most likely will be there shortly. So I'd say call them again and politely express your reasonable concerns and your disappointment. Tell them you just want an approximate date when your vehicle should arrive. That is a respectable request. Or ask them if they can give you the info to set up your MyChevy app and track the vehicle yourself. They should have no problem honoring that request. If it gets to be that they really seem to be intentionally ignoring you, then contact GM customer relations or the dealership customer relations team and explain the situation to them. That should get you somewhere.

Call and ask to speak with the General Manager of sales, and do not stop calling until you get through.

Dealership cannot be that busy. I went to my dealer for the 1 free oil change and tire rotation, which they did not rotate, I mark them on one side with a sharpie. And I can only imagine what oil they used after telling me it was synthetic. Waiting to get the survey. Anyway, I was there for 2 hours because there was also a recall. But not a single customer, not 1 came in for new car sales. Used car side you cant see from the waiting area.
With only a Chevy Sonic on the showroom floor and about 15 or so new cars on the lot, I do not think any GM dealer is to busy to answer or respond. Especially since you already paid for it. |
