You can see the front wheel slow down a little. Also it spins a little when I hit the crack in the pavement. It seems that spot likes to unsettle my car.

That’s a good .5” of free-air.

That’s some nice rear wrinkle there bro!

If yo focus you can see the tire slip, then grab, then slip, then grab, etc.

That was a great launch, you can also see that in the tire track.

I think these gen v motors will end up being better then the gen 3/4. It is hard to say if the 17psi is playing with fire or hell they might end up being happy at 30psi. I am surprised I am not floating the valves at all with that much boost.
Almost dropped my beer it's just so hard to conceive ring gap and all. What fuel was this?

Lots of e70. It is on the rich side for much of the run.

I just finished a similar L83 build using a factory 6.2 forged crank. Are you going to use the 6.100" rods on the rebuild? I should have mine dropped in and running this weekend. Your car gives me hope. 17 lbs is impressive!

I bought the gpi drop in rods and pistons whatever they are.

I am anxious to see where the power lands with similar boost and my old 6.2 cam.

The GPI kit has the 6.125" rods. I'm sure you'll make incredibly power on the new setup. I got mine installed and running last weekend and just waiting on an upgraded driveshaft. The video that 1320 did on the history of your old truck was really cool.

It seems like on one end you hear people (and supposedly more reputable sources like magazines) saying they take stock 5.3's and claim the can't break them and make over 1000 hp with turbos. Then you see people at 600wrhp saying they break rods or pistons. You also see people with GEN V LT1's claiming its a gamble over 650-700rwhp and they are likely to break piston. I mean the difference in the half a point compression dosen't seem like it would explain it, I mean it may just be that placebo effect of thinking that since its a "truck" motor that it will take more abuse, haha, even though considering the LT1 and the L86 are exactly the same motors with just different exhaust manifolds and intake manifolds. It just doesn't add up to me.

I don’t know that a 5.3 is any better than a 6.2. I just know that it is a lot cheaper. I expect a few years from now people will have pushed enough of the gen v motors we will know if one is better than the others. The iron block 6.6 with rods and pistons and some Lt4 heads seems like it would have a lot of potential for not crazy money.
