Found out yesterday I blew a piston/piston ring not 100% sure yet.. pulling the motor soon.. What do you guys think about GPI and their Forged pistons and their cam packages?

Probably broke a ring land like I did. I did the Manley Pistons, Rods and just polished the crank. I'm running the Livernois cam, dod delete and locked out the VVT. I lowered my compression to 10.5. So far so good and going to the dyno this weekend.

Well ain't that something I just blew mine last week and I'm only full bolt ons. I think my oil pump gave out on mine as I lost all oil pressure immediately. I went ahead and bought the GPI piston/rod combo and they look great. I don't think you'll have any regrets buying anything from them. They make good stuff and their customer service is one of the best ive dealt with.

GPI does have great performance stuff for sure. Great reputation and they build a lot of fast rides. Good luck to both of you guys.

GPI did my forged build — I’ve done a lot with them, great shop...
Aaron’s team there is fantastic... -Don

I’m an old guy and we never did this back in the day, however, no one marketed drop-in piston/rod combo’s for high performance applications back then either. Puddin, are you going to balance your motor?

Yea it's actually going to be broken down and balanced at LME in Houston and possibly have a new crankshaft installed while there just to be safe since it's going to be torn down all the way.
