Help buying tires

My OEM tires are pretty much bald and I am stuck between two tires, the Michelin PS4S and the A/S3+. I don't do any track driving but I do drive pretty spirited on the street, so I don't want to lose any traction over the stock if I do go with the all season's but at the same time I live in an area with a lot of rain and really want the longer treadwear because I can't afford to replace my tires every 15k miles. So how long do the PS4S last and what's it like to drive in wet weather? And how much grip would I be giving up if I chose the A/S3+?

My Pilot 4S's are great in the rain. The Goodyears were the worst tire I've ever driven in rain, so the difference was amazing. There is a little bit of rollover with these compared to the Goodyears in the dry, but nothing like the old Continental DW's I had on my Mustang. They wear awesome as well. I had to replace my Goodyears at 15k with one track weekend on them. I'm at 16 or 17k on the Michelins with the same track weekend's worth of wear and I probably have at least 6-8k more miles left in them.

Either Tire is going to be significantly better than what you have now. I'm not far from you btw, do you have a dedicated set of Winter Tires? If not, the A/S3+ are the best all season you can buy and will definitely get you through our mild winters.

I bought the Cooper RS3's. Seem to handle as good a stock, grip good and ride smoother.

USAA members get 25% off a set of 4 Goodyears if you qualify for that.

I concur with others here, the PS4S is far superior in the wet. Finally I can drive with confidence even in heavy rain, instead of chugging carefully along in the right lane at 35-40 mph while SUV's zip by at 70+.

Dry traction, comparing fully warmed up tires, is similar to the OEM runflats we get with the SS, while tire noise is substantially less. The Michelins warm up quicker, though, and are fully usable in much colder temps, too
