I’ve gotten some questions about how my rear camera is installed, so I’ll just post the response and pics here.

It is a Thinkware F750. They have since been discontinued in favor of F770 and F800. It was installed by a local pro audio shop. They made a bracket that sits between the rear seats to position the camera to see above the tonneau and above the lower border of the rear window when the top is up. The cable for the camera runs from the front camera through the A-pillar and down the passenger side of the car, emerging behind the seat back.

I have the same camera as James and finally got my rear camera mount fabricated. I wanted to have the camera higher so I had to angle the mount forward to miss the top as it goes up and down. I used 1/8 inch aluminum.

Richard, you definitely get a much better perspective rearward than I do. Nice piece-o-work, there.

Thanks. It's a little rough since I'm not a fabricator but the guy that cut it out and bent it to my template did a good job. I might move it up just a little bit higher.

Your homemade bracket definitely gives you a much better view than the one the installers made. Good Job.

I am just running a dual front/rear camera up front under the mirror. Gets great shots of me and the wife inside the car and not so great shots through the back window. Lol

I dig the custom mount. I'm thinking of getting a Blackvue dashcam.

I have the Aukey DR02 while it was on sale. My only thing is installing it. I have the forward collision camera behind my mirror so im trying to figure out how to run the wires into there. Im just afraid to break anything.

I have the wiring kit so all I need to do is run the wires to the driver footwell.

I have a Thinkware F770 dual camera. It's a great system.

Question for those who have hardwired their dash cam to their car. Is it possible to get an extra set of cables in order to hardwire a second car and switch the cam when needed? For example between my winter car and my Camaro.

The things I see driving around metro Detroit. This was on my drive in to work this morning. I’m guessing there’s a magazine article coming soon.

Just noticing that I need to change the time stamp on my camera. It’s exactly 4 hours off.

I have the Thinkware 500 dual camera in all 3 of our vehicles. Video is great at 1080P but the audio is horrid and is one of the main gripes on the net about their cameras.

If I was going to replace mine today I would either try the Blackvue camera or the new Garmin camera.

This right here! I have a blackvue with front/rear cameras. Great quality video and audio.
