Expel + Ceramic Coat - Can you do both?

I want to protect the front bumper with Expel and Ceramic Coat the rest of the car. Can you do both or only one or the other? Also are there are other areas besides the nose you would recommend Expelling?

I did Xpel on the entire front clip, a pillars, and front foot of roof. You should probably do the rockers also if you are staying with the front bumper

Yes you can do both.

My recommended priorities for PPF:
1. Front Bumper
2. Headlights, splitter and DRL bezels if not included w/ Bumper.
3. In front of and behind the rear wheels
4. Hood
5. Rockers up to the body line in the door
6. Front fenders
7. Mirrors
8. A-pillars (all the way around the windshield on verts).
9. Doors
10. Rest of the car.

I went with Suntek Ultra and stopped at #8. Then put Gtechniq Crystal Serum Black and EXO on the entire car, including wheels.

If I were to do it again I would skip the spend on most of the ceramic and spend it instead to PPF the entire car and only do the EXO durable hydrophobic coating on the PPF. Ceramic is a waste of $$$ on top of PPF and tends to make very hard to remove water spots. Ceramic+hydrophobic on the wheels and grille is worthwhile, however.

Yes.. I had both done to mine. Well worth the money to me. The only thing I didnt do was doors and deck lid. Used Suntek Ultra and went over that with Ceramic Pro. Also did wheel off and calipers. Extremely happy.

Between Xpel and Suntek Ultra Im beginning to get the vibe that Suntek Ultra is the better choice?

Will the shine still be strong if I use Suntek Ultra on the entire car without Ceramic coating and will it still dispel water?

If I Ceramic Coat ontop of Suntek Ultra, will there be any adverse affects?

I cant answer that. When I started looking, I already had my mind made up that I was ceramic coating over PPF no matter what I went with. I would think the hydrophobic properties will be much less without Ceramic Coating.

I see. I just didn't know you could ceramic coat over PPF. Is doing so any less effective than Ceramic coating over clearcoat?

I would only ceramic coat PPF if I put it on myself. I’m not about to pay what a detailer wants to wipe on some stuff that doesn’t require any prep but he’ll still charge you for prep. Be careful when you deal with the detailer on this… That being said, a simple SIO2 spray like the Meguires ceramic wax would work fine.

When spraying on, how often does it have to be redone?
