Gone with the wind - what did you lose?

Hats, receipts, shopping bags, they are all likely to fly out of your convertible without any warning. With just a quick flash before your eyes, they are up and out. My latest loss was the reflective pouch for my EZ Pass. It was down in the driver's door storage compartment before it was airborne and gone. I was doing about 60 on a 2 lane. Two hours later, on the way back it caught my eye on the roadside and a with quick u-turn it was back on board. What uplifting stories do you have?

Funny when it happened story

Took my landscaper out for a quick drive since he is a huge Chevy fan. Manual shifted slowly to third, brought the rpms up to around 4k, and punched it. He lost the hat off his head and after a few seconds to recover said; "don't worry about it-I'll get another"

Stories on the corvette forums are a lot more exciting. About once a month you see a lost T top where the owner forgot to latch it down properly and realized their mistake on the first on ramp from home :-)

I've lost a few receipts for sure, and several UNO cards my daughter left in the back seat LOL

In my '00 Z28 with T-Tops off and windows down, I opened the center console while driving on the highway and a $20 bill flew out! Almost lost more, but closed the console in time. This happened about 12 years ago and I learned my lesson not to do that again.

I'll just say, don't leave any half empty coffee cups in the console and then punch it... makes a mess.

Daughter lost her pink Rodgers Chevrolet hat the day I got home with her we were able to recover the hat with no damage to it or the vehicle.

This happened to me years ago in my '80 Trans AM. A $20 flew out and I saw it in my rearview land in the median. I stopped on the side, backed up (no traffic) and got out to look for it. After a few minutes I saw it and thought 'Sweet!'. Went to pick it up and saw it was a $5. Damn. Kept looking and found the $20 a few minutes later. Made $5 on the deal, lol.

Any of you have any creative storage solutions to keep small stuff from flying out with the top down? The center console is so small you can't fit much in there. Thinking about something I could use velcro to attach to the carpet on the side of the passenger's seat like a cargo net (the SL550/600 Mercedes put this on their passenger side for the same purpose) but with a zip top so stuff doesn't work it's way out. Just curious if any of you creative types have come up with anything?
