Busted for sound..

I went to Sonoma Raceway yesterday for a track day and got thrown out for two sound violations. The thing is yesterday was my sixth day there! The exhuast is stock. An instructor said they recalibrated the sound monitor plus I was faster around turn 11 so I'm redlining 2nd and 3rd before the start finish. Heck, I could make more excuses but my question is, does anyone know a shop in the Bay area I can get Laguna Seca pipes? Apparently I'll need them. I'm in San Francisco.

Any other advice? Anybody else run into this? I'll pass on just short shifting and praying I don't get black flagged.

I had a great day otherwise. Forgot the SD card for the PDR but could care less. So many things clicked! I was faster on so many spots around the track that I don't need the PDR to tell me.

That is the stupidest thing I ever heard of. Why the hell have a race track, which will have race cars on it and have a noise limit.

Be good neighbors.. or learn where sound station is (are) and let off the loud pedal.

I'm sure they have unmuffled weekends (days) too.

Not just Cali, Lime Rock has stricter sound limits that Laguna and Sonoma.

I recently had a set made a trackspec in Fremont and they worked like a charm last week for me at Laguna. It was a 92db day and I had no issues at all.

What was the DB limit at Sonoma?? I’ve never heard of anyone having issues there in the 15 years I’ve been going.

Also, where is the sound booth located (left or right side)?

Every time I've been to Sonoma they say it's 103db limit. I've never actually heard if anyone getting popped for sound there.

Ugly as Sin, but how do they stay in?? I have needed something to use as turn-downs, or turn-aways. I just have wondered how with NPP tips...

And AZ...

The really stupid thing with our sound limited track is that it sits at the end of an Air Force base runway....

you see the only reason you got busted was because you weren't first, you were probably last? lmao thats weird never seen that happen at that track before maybe it was a special day or someone important was there checking.

Fortunately my local track (Gateway in StL) has a toxic waste dump, a trash mound, strip clubs (lots) and well....East St Louis as its neighbors. None of whom care one bit about how outrageously loud we may be when on track.

Sound limit for a racetrack is so stupid. Luckily SoCal tracks are OK as they are all in the desert except Auto Club Speedway. But I heard initially, NorCal tracks are located in the middle of nowhere as well. Then people built house and moved in around the tracks, which makes the sound limit even more ridiculous

Hey thanks for the shop recommendation!

The limit was 95 dB. The sound booth is after turn 11
