What happened today huh? Car went to the dealer this morning for exploratory surgery. Their mission is to find out why I run out of gas with 1/4 tank showing on the gauge and 110 miles to empty on the display. What? Bad float you say? I would say that too if it didn't only take 14 gallons to fill the car back up when it "runs out of gas". So the question is... will they find out where my other 5 gallons of gas mysteriously goes to that it's not available to draw from? Bottom line- the gauge is reading correctly but I can't access some 5 gallons of gas in the tank...
