Question wma lossless audio files and USB flash drives

Anyone had any luck getting wma lossless files to play on a usb flash drive in NTFS or Fat32 with Infotainment? I've tried 3 in my '19 2SS so far but still keep getting an error saying I'm using an unsupported device type when plugging into the top port in the center console All 3 Sandisk brand (Cruzer 8GB, Cruzer 16 GB, Fit 16 GB).. All with only 30 tracks total, seperated into 3 folders (Artist Names). Error makes me think it does not like the drives as opposed to the wma files but the likelihood of 3 bum drives using different formatting, doesnt make much sense. Have to be overlooking something here.

The manual says the Infotainment system won't play Lossless audio files. Neither WMA Lossless or Apple Lossless

Thanks, missed that. That sucks but not an end of the world deal. I just loaded 10 mp3's with a bitrate of 320 to these drives to test but same error as above. Beginning to think it does not like Sandisk drives. Drives work fine on laptop. Any chance there is a flash drive compatibility list I'm missing?

Not that it helps the question, but Amazon Music now stream in "HD" and "ultra HD"(44khz 16bit & 192 24bit) with a 90 day free trial and the option to download. So I've downloaded a load of 'ultra HD' and 'HD' playlists on to my iphone so minimal data charges when driving and the difference is incredible.

My only two data points are a Sandisk 128 GB card+reader combo that doesn't work either, and a generic 4 GB pen drive that does.

Could be the size, 4GB may be a limit based on old filesystem constraints (although it'd be a shame if it were, almost two decades into the 21st century). Can you try a 4GB stick or card reader, Sandisk or not?

Thanks for that bit of info. Will have to take advantage of that trial and give it a test run.

Thanks for the suggestion. Didn't have any other 4 GB sticks offhand but had a PNY 16 GB
and a 32 GB Kensington Data Traveler and ironically enough, both work using 320 bitrate MP3's with both NTFS and Fat32. Dont care for how flimsy these are in the center console ports (not that the Sandisks were any better, with the exception of the Fit's short profile) but at least they work so that's a plus. I guess mileage varies with these Sandisk sticks

That might just be it.. The Fit I have is a Cruzer Fit. Matter of fact, they were all from the Cruzer line. Going to give that Ultra a try. Good deal for 11 bucks, thanks for that.

I'm using a PNY Attaché 128gb drive. No issues.

I had trouble with various brands of usb drives. Just unpredictable. I settled on the Samsung usb bar which is cheap through amazon. Always works.

Yeah, does seem to be the case. May be something with the Sandisk Cruzer line, odd as it is. I ordered the ultra Fit, Move, N Up linked earlier just waiting for it to ship. Prefer that short profile so it's not getting knocked around in the console. Using my PNY 16 GB stick for now which works just fine in the meantime. Whatever works.. Nothing beats some Big Empty by STP on those late night cruises

I use this https://www.amazon.com/Anker-4-Port-...BH6BK3DDDJ2ZZ7

With three usb drives plugged into it. I will be getting some ultra fits as the usb drives I have now cause it to take up a lot of room in the not so roomy console.
