Idle ticking noise?

So I've done some browsing on the forums and supposedly its normal to have a loud ticking noise at idle in these cars? 2018 v6a8. A lot of feedback seems to say that DI engines are just noisy. Anyway heres a video link of the noise

https://youtu.be/mNyXWbfVlEk

Can anyone confirm that this is normal? It definitely sucks when people get in the car and are like "oh noooo, whats wrong with your engine? Its all messed up already?" lol but oh well...if its normal ill just keep the radio turned up a bit

I have the same model and year. The ticking noise is not normal. I normally get a small tick on a cold start when the AC kicks on from a remote start that goes away after a few seconds. Other than that, I've had zero ticks.

Do you live somewhere with cold seasons? I've had this car about 3 months and live in NY...it didn't start doing this until the temperature dropped recently. Now when its about 55-60 degrees outside it makes the noise. Could just be coincidence also. I also noticed that there is a correlation between oil pressure and the noise. When the oil temp is around 170, the oil pressure at idle will be 40psi and the ticking noise is there. When the oil temp is 200, the oil pressure lowers to about 20psi at idle and the noise cant be heard. So i guess out of curiosity, what is your oil pressure at idle?

Yeah, Lafayette, Indiana. Been hitting 40s at night routinely now and cold start from work at 11:30pm every night, no ticking noise. I'm typing this at work, so I won't get a chance to check oil pressure until I'm off. I'll respond again once I get the numbers.

Oil pressure from 78F cold start to 170F idle was 40-43psi. Pressure at operating temp (196F) and idle was 36psi.

Ok, thank you for taking the time to check that for me. It sounds like i should bring the car in to have it checked out after all.

All direct injection engines tick like that, but it's not normally that noticable unless you have the hood up (they noise insulate the engine bays).

It's never been that loud on my car even in -40F weather, which is as cold as I've ever started it.

This is the first car i've ever had with a "sound tube". I did install an aftermarket CAI...it has the sound tube hookup too...maybe its carrying more noise than usual into the cabin of the car?

My 2018 Mustang GT had a ticking noise- it started as ticking, then went to knocking- it was LOUD. And the engine rattled at about 2K RPM. It felt like the pistons were loose in the cylinder walls. It was enough that after being at the dealership a few weeks and them finally stating it was "normal" I got rid of the car.

My 2016 Camaro V6 is so quiet in comparison, absolutely no ticks at all.

I remember that hole debacle. If the tick happens on the 5.0 get rid of it is what I heard a lot of people did.
