I tried all that... Must have gotten a bad one and will have to try again.

Mike you have a bad one, works on my cars all of them, and all you do after you set the learn is go to the tire, under the TPS, on the tire hold the button there for 3-6 sic and it will sound the horn.

I guess I'll order up another one. I tried it on my Tahoe as well and it didn't work. Drove to Discount tire and 2 min later they were programmed.

Changing them back out again next weekend for the track

Once u set the learn on the dash the front drivers side is where u start that parking light is lit then front passenger side then rear passenger then rear drivers, mine is the same cheap tool sometimes it takes a real long time to get the signal like a minute or longer but it works

Just remember to point the tool at the sensor as it sits on the tire. If you point it at the sensor directly or put it along side of it then it will not work.

Maybe this clarification helps. You put the tool on the tire pointing in radially towards the Sensor. Envision a bike spoke with the black antenna lying on the tire but pointing towards the sensor .

Just did this the other day. I had a square set up for winter I bought used. Guy said he had sensors that worked with a 2010 Camaro. I figured it would be find. Went to learn mode and I couldn't get them to work. Luckily I had ordered a set of sensors used off ebay awhile back. So took it all into the local tire shop who swapped them out but couldn't get the new ones to work. I got home and used the learn tool and immediately got it working on all 4 tires. Very easy to do. If you are having issues it might be because you have the wrong sensors.

I had a 2011 and you relearned by releasing air in each tire waiting for horn to honk
I don’t understand why one has to buy a tool now

Because GM eliminated that option, the only way to reset the TPMS on the 6th gen is by using the TPMS tool.

I just ordered wheels with tires mounted from Factory Reproductions
I asked them if I needed the tool and they said,no ,it’s reset before they send it to me
Doesn’t sound right

No, that's not correct unless they have the sensors from your original tire/wheel setup.

In your case just stop by a discount tire. They do it for free.
