I mean, they're two totally different animals.
If I'm blessed with a well paying position years down the road, i'd get both. ZL1/1LE in stick, and C8 as a daily driver.

I’m keeping my ZL1! I wouldn’t typically buy a new gen first year car anyway but I have before with my 2010 2SS and 2016 2SS Camaros. Thank goodness no real issues turned up with either one except a broken valve spring covered under warranty in the 2010. I’m planning on retiring within 3 to 4 years anyway and don’t want to be financially strapped for cash to have another car payment since I’m still paying on the ZL1.

It would be a C8 for me but if I wanted a manual, which sometimes I miss, that would push me into the ZL1.

Between the two I would go no less than the Z51 on the C8. I personally think the Z51 C8s are going to pretty much destroy just about everything out there except for the C7 Z06 and anything above that level of performance.

C8 is my vote! Love my '16 SS, but if I were to choose between the two, I would go C8 and not go up to a ZL1. I am hoping to keep my SS and get a C8 in the next year or so.

thanks to those providing input. I’m sure having to wait will be a good thing. There are a lot of variables. I’ve preferred the ZL1 to the corvette in years passed but the C8 just look too damn impressive and that’s the top end for me in terms of vehicles as far as budget goes. I’ll be receiving a settlement which should enable me to pay for said ZL1/C8 with cash.

Only thing useful about the rear seat in the gen 6 Camaro is that it folds down for a little more cargo. As a seat it is for tiny children.
When looking at the C8 cutaway it's a no brainer on which direction to go. Light years difference in technology. That said, an optioned out Camaro is a nice and underrated car. If more people would actually drive one of them for a few miles they would most likely have much better sales numbers.

I would go with the upcoming LT5 ZL1/28! Much more practical than any Corvette.

I've owned 4 Corvettes and I prefer the Gen6 Camaro personally. And the C8 may change that but I don't think so. Fundamentally the Camaro is more usable driving around on the street - parking it, dealing with curbs and driveways, getting in and out, seating position.
The Corvette is a great race car. But I finally realized I wanted a street car not a race car and the trade off in improved daily use capability over max performance envelope was one I was more than happy making. Everybody has their own take on that however. |
