PTM Question

I will be taking my new-to-me 2017 1LE to the track for the first time this weekend. I have a fair amount of track experience but am stilling trying to understand the features of this car.

I think I understand everything but PTM. I have been reviewing the owners manual and trying to understand PTM but I am missing something.

According to the owners manual, pushing the TCS/Stabilitrak button twice will put the car into Competitive Driving Mode. The manual says that when in this mode, the traction control off light and the Stabilitrak off light should illuminate in the dash when I do this.

However, when I do it, only the TCS off light illuminates and this button seems to function as an on/off toggle and not as described in the manual.

While I typed this, I realized I have been doing this when in Touring mode (maybe this is important).

Any idea why I can't get the car to go into Competitive Driving Mode?

Thanks in advance.

Put it in sport mode and try again.

Sport Mode + 2x press of TC button = Comp Mode

Track Mode + 2x press of TC button = PTM mode, then use the mode selector to scroll through the PTM modes.

To get into competitive mode you need to be in sport mode. To access the PTM modes you need to be in track mode.

It can be a little finicky with the timing of the button presses. If you try to 'double click' the tc button too fast it won't work. I find two deliberate presses (press - pause - press) works best.

Or just press and hold until both lights are on and let the fun begin.

Minor, but important detail:

Track Mode + 2x press of TC button = PTM mode, then use the mode selector to scroll through the PTM modes, then hit select on the steering wheel

You don't HAVE to. Either method works.

Like Jerome said, no, you don't have to hit select on the steering wheel. Page 27 of the Performance Supplement.

I ran in the sport mode but the car wouldn't allow me to use the throttle to rotate the car. If I put it in Track/Race, would that allow me freedom to rotate the car with the throttle? It seemed like it took a long time to give me the throttle back. (almost felt like turbo lag)

Thanks.

BTW - this car is unbelievable. Got me a bunch of cars including a GT3 and a Shelby. ...with my daughter as a passenger. On street tires and no mods. Impressive.

I am old. Need more coffee before I try to comprehend that many words.

Clearly it is all there. Just need to make a post it and put it in the car with what I want.

Thanks.
