im looking for the paper instructions if it comes with them. My local dealer is trying to tell me that it doesn't need a tune. and if i wanted one done it would be an extra charge. i heard it was free in the price of the kit

It comes with a tune...should be a paper in the kit with a code number for dealer to use to add the tune to your car

if you bought it new it will come with the code for the dealer to tune it. its only good for the 1st person to use it. If you bought it used you will have to pay the $50 or so but the dealer is right its just a EPA calibration and is unneeded.

I should have bought a ZL1

What do you mean by EPA calibration? I was under the impression it was a re-learn for the MAF to keep it from running too lean.

You can get the tune for it from the HP tuner repository and bypass the dealership if you have access to a tuner. Its a basic tune with just a small increase to fuel at the top. If you are not WOT then there is no change needed.

I just sold mine with the paperwork, otherwise I would be more help.

Yea, the tune code is unique for each kit too. It might be written on the original packaging too if they gave you that. I think it was on the last page of the instructions.

no the tune is just to keep the emissions in check. yes it corrects the MAF. the car doesnt need to be tuned for a cai though so dont sweat it. Your dealer is correct. you dont need it.
