Going to buy a 2023 ZL1 ... is there anything I need to know?

So my current ZL1 is a 2013 model year.

My next ZL1 will be a 2023 model most likely since that will be the last model year. Since I have not kept up on these forums for years ... is there anything I need to know before making a purchase? I can't decide if I want an auto or manual yet. I am definitely NOT getting the 1LE package. I'm just curious if the current generation of Camaros have any issues.

Watch your timing. GM has already started cutting back on Camaro options, and it wouldn’t surprise me a bit to see ZL1 production end early because it’s now the only GM model using that engine.

That’s what I was thinking too!

I thought there was talk of it going into a Cadillac and maybe even Silverado. At least that's what TFL and a couple other outlets have been saying.

I'm betting it's going into the Silverado ZRX.

2+ years from now! What you should know is, post again in June 2022 and ask the question!

First of all, we don't know that 2023 is the last model year. 2nd, we don't know what if any changes will be coming since we're 2 model years away. Maybe come back and ask this question in the Spring of 2022.

The Cadillac CT5-V will also be using the LT4. That literally has zero bearing on whether the ZL1 will end early.

Also, curious as to what options they have cut back on. Because according to my order guide, the only options that went away for 2021 were 2 colors, and 3 dealer accessories. They did add some neat features like wireless apple carplay/android auto and make RS and Redline available on LT1.

Oh, can't forget the A10 that's now available on SS 1LE. So.....

Manual. At this point this will likely be the last generation of Camaro (and especially the performance variants) to get a manual transmission. I never would have thought GM would drop the manual in the Corvette but here we are.

This. I'm surely in the minority, but will likely never get the C8 for this reason.

You cannot even get a 4WD truck in the USA with a manual transmission any more!
