Ford has already gone on record early in the release and said that this generation of GT500 will weigh more than the previous. With the previous coming in at 3920lbs, you can take a stab at where this vehicle will land. There's no way in hell it'll reach tug boat status like the Dodge twins but, I'm sure it'll be around 4-4100.

Ford waited until the 755 LT5 to come out and the upped it. I am sure the it would have been around 740hp and then in the next year it would have gone to 760. But it could not wait

760 hp is impressive but not earth shattering. It should be interesting to see how the GT500 compares to the ZL1.

Mine in stock form weighed in at 3860lbs with a full tank of gas.
If we look at that recipe. They took the regular GT and added tons of chasis reinforcement, additional suspension bits and a supercharger. I suspect we're looking at 200lbs over Mustang GT. Most of that sitting on the nose.

I like America. I don't care if its Ford, Dodge or Chevy.
I think the GT500 looks pretty good, I just wish they'd given it the fender vents from the GT350. My feeling is that 650hp is more than enough. Beyond that I only want handling and I don't believe the GT500 will handle better than my ZLE. Even if it manages better lap times it will be through brute force. Not what I'm looking for. If I could have three cars in my garage: #1 ZL1 1LE A10 (Daily Driver) #2 Hellcat Redeye A8 (Road Trips) #3 C7 Grand Sport M7 w/ Z07 (Track Days) GT500 isn't on the list.

Even the last GT500 coming out at 662 was surprising, at least to me.

It'll be marked up to $125k for at least a year, then slowly come down like the 350R did.
I'm curious to hear what they've done to keep temperatures in check. My buddy's two GT350's both had big issues with overheating after only a few minutes on track.
