Is the 500 and 1500mi engine oil change "necessary"? I get the piece of mind aspect. Anything wrong with waiting for 1500mi?
My brother's 2014 1SS, we just changed it at 1500mi. Did a good break in over that period, followed the owner's manual. Never burned a drop, pull some great dyno numbers.

You will find that most engine builders, engine breaking docs, GM performance guides, and on and on do recommend several early oil changes for engines, and the same goes for rear ends. |

Been reading through this thread with some great information, but I have a question about my '18 ZL1 1LE.
In the high performance owners manual supplement it lists Electronic Limited-Slip Differential (eLSD) Clutch System Lubricant (ZL1 and SS with the 1LE package) 5.4 ounces. I'm ready to do my 1,500 mile rear diff. service and was wondering where to get this fluid. My local dealer never heard of it and suggested the 88900330 limited slip additive. I didn't see this Electronic Limited-Slip Differential Clutch System Lubricant listed on this thread. Thank you for any insights into this. |

The differential fluid is the easiest change - takes approximately 1.6 qts, just fill until spill. Here is a YT video of what to do: https://youtu.be/c7Nnwgf34HY?t=299 |

Just went through the thread and tried to search the entire forum, but does anyone happen to have the GM part number for the recommended track oil (15W-50) ?
Might be a good idea to add that to the OP. |

Having a hard time finding the right part number for it myself. If anybody gets it, please post it and I will add it.

2019 ZL1
Good morning, I just picked up my new ZL1 last week. Obviously this continues to be of question but the recommend service intervals for the 2019 don't seem to be included in the owners manual.
Nor was my dealer recommending any service interval when the car was purchased. After reading through previous posts, I see mention of the new oil from Mobile 1. Has anyone been running this for awhile? Lastly, looking to upgrade the exhaust, any recommendations? I love the crackles and pops of the factory exhaust on track mode but it's just too quiet for my taste. I see MBRP has exhausts listed for up to the 2018, but when I called them they stated it wont' fit the 2019. Has something changed with the exhaust in 2019 or have they just not "confirmed" fitment. Open to suggestions on exhaust, cat-back for now, not looking to headers at this time. |

As for exhausts, I would stick with AWE Touring (Don't let the name fool you, it's loud and aggressive) or Corsa (Same story). Don't get a cheap exhaust that's going to rattle and drone away, unless you like that sort of thing. |

You would take the AWE touring over the Track version? Also would you go resonated or non resonated. Keep in mind my preference is raspy and I don't mind the decel crackle if not prefer it.

Those of us with verts that have the standard (non-E) diff are scheduled every 72k miles per the manual.

I personally would go Non-Resonated Touring with Performance link Pipes. Or Corsa Cat-back either Xtreme or Xtreme+. I think Corsa may be more raspy. Both have decel pops but the ZL1 is light on those with the stock tune.
