Best drag radials and back spacing
I've read how to fit a 305/35/20 can I go bigger? Maybe a 315/35/20? Or dropping down to a 18" wheel? What back spacing are y'all using? What drag radials are y'all having the best luck with?

Should, at minimum, drop to a 17" wheel. Racestars or c6 z06 wheels, if you want something inexpensive.
As far as which drag radial, do you want a DOT drag radial or a non-DOT drag radial? |

Running these wheel with a 3mm spacer. The fit is tight but it works great. https://www.oewheelsllc.com/CV05-D18...vette-C5-style |

From what I've read online if I go to the 17" wheels I'd need to grind on the caliper? When I was at Fireball in okc I took a bunch of pictures of what they had on there fireball 700s and a 17 is tight, they also had the nitto nto5 in a 315 and it was tight, probably will do more street driving than anything else and I do understand needing the roll out, so I'm leaning towards a 305/35/20 or a 305/45/18 I think are the 2 best options?

I'd run either a 17x9.5 in a 6.0 backspace, with a mickey thompson et street r tire.
The smaller wheel let's you have less rotational weight, which means more hp. And it also allows for more sidewall on the tire, which greatly aids in traction. |

When I had my Mustang I had the following
Nitto NT555R - great street tire IMO. Gripped good on the street, but wasn't as good at the track as I had hoped. No matter what I tried, they were only marginally better than a street tire. Roasting them for my burnout, small burnout, stock air pressure, low air pressure, medium didn't matter. M&H Drag Radials- better than the Nitto but still not the best. Was very inconsistent, sometimes it hooked like glue, other times it was just like a street tire. required lots of playing around with different PSI in them. Mickey Thompson ET Street. This things were like glue. hooked fantastic on the street and on the track they were amazing. Definitely worth the money. Only thing I didn't like about them is they wore fast, and they picked up everything and would toss rocks like crazy, especially after getting some heat in them. |

Just ordered a set of Nitto NT05R 315/35/20. They hook really good both street and track, just don't last that long if you track a lot.

What wheel specs did you use? With what offset or backspacing did you use?
