Uhhh its GM.... they use as many parts in multiple vehicles all the time. That's what they do.

6.2 that's in the camaro and vette is the same that's in the trucks and suburbans. Theres a few minor differences like intakes, tube, but still the same motor deep down.

The engine in the cars make a little more power and torque than the truck engine and it is just a bit higher in the RPM range, but the car engine is more than up to handling towing.

Which leads me to this question...

the hitch attaches to the sheet metal body and its not designed to haul a trailer. its designed to attach a bike rack to.

I thought they had the same throttle body.

I will have to look later, several of the truck guys have swapped the truck intake over for the Corvette/Camaro intake. I think I remember them saying the TB had to be changed as well. Been a long while since I read the thread about it on that forum.

2500 does not have a 6.2 option

Correct the 2500 uses the LS 6.0 truck engine with iron block/Aluminum heads

The LT1 in the Camaro is essentially the same in thee truck as noted above. The intake and exhaust are different along with ecu programming. It is set up for more lower end torque and has a lower peak HP.

The Chevy SS shares the 6.2L engine although it is discontinued.
