Rear Pads Same Size as Brembo Lotus Caliper

I am getting sorted for the ZL1's first track day. So the time finally came to determine once and for all if the rear brake pad is indeed the same size as the Brembo Lotus caliper size. Took a stock pad out and compared it to as fresh set of Pagid RS29 for a Lotus caliper I had laying around. Same size. Of course the Pagids don't have the fancy backing plate like the stock pads. Fit them into the calipers, like a slipper.

More Pagid info for those that like Pagids. The ZL1 pad 8253 is only available in the RSC1 compound. The alternative is shape 8019 which is available in the RS19 compound which is the older version of the RS29. Both are great pads. The 8019 requires a bit of machining before they ship it out to match the 8253 shape, a bigger scallop on the bottom. The rear pad shape 1408 is available in the RS29 compound but not the RS19 compound. The folks at Northstar Motorsports have at least one customer other than me using this combo. We shall see.

I'm the other customer. Marc at Northstar did a great job working out the combo. So far I have used them at 4 track days (4x20 min sessions) and 4 autox events. I really like the pads. Much better wear than the OE pads, and no uneven pad deposit issues. No fade either. So far easy on the rotors. All my track stuff has been at Motorsport Ranch Houston. Next month I'll try them at COTA and see how they do there.

On Edit: the correct rear pad (1408) is the same as the rear pad on the 5th gen SS and ZL1 Camaro. I tried to get Pagid to change the part number they have in their catalog for the 6th gen but no luck.

I absolutely love Pagid RS29’s, just not cool with $600 per axle... that’s how much they were when I priced them for my SS 1LE. You guys mind sharing ZL1 fitment cost?

$576 for the front in RS19, $315 for the rear in RS29 from Northstar Motorsports. The quote I got on the rears was a couple months ago, but i didn't order as I already had a set, so I don't know if there has been any price changes on the rear.

Excellent to hear this report! I will be tracking them at Road America July 7 & 8 and provide feedback afterwards.
