Removing Headliner

Does anyone know of a step by step guide to remove the headliner? And for anyone who has removed the headliner, is there any additional roof height to be gained? I'm trying to eek out every bit of space I can get for helmet height.

Unfortunately the only car in my area that I could get my hands on has a sunroof and I've lost about an inch because of it. Even a gain of 0.5" would help. I assume the headliner must take up at least that much space.

Thank you all!

Last I heard you have to remove the front glass to remove the headliner. Unless you want to destroy it.

I had my headliner replaced as it was sagging in the front. The only way to get it out of the car in one piece would be to remove the windshield. On my car they actually removed the old windshield and replaced it with a new one. They said it was because once they take it off they have to replace it. Good thing it was a warranty job.

There is a TSB out for the drooping or sagging headliner that was caused by a factory headliner that was cut too short. As said, the only way to get the headliner out in 1 piece so it can be used again is to pull the windshield.

When you replaced your Headliner does it look good like the factory installed it. Does it make any sounds now inside the car?
