AWE Touring Catback Initial Impressions & Weight
Hey everyone...below is a link to a video review I did on the AWE Touring Catback Exhaust...unboxing, initial impressions, and the weight of the system compared to the stock exhaust.
Overall I am happy with what I see so far! I can't wait to see what it sounds like with long tubes and the new motor! https://youtu.be/DI2V2xOnEjg |

Nice vid. at one point the axle back had adapters to the OE midpipe that I heard problems with but mine sounds great, moments I could use a little more volume and moments a little less. My chrome tips show some wear and weren't 100% durable I guess, I stopped using chrome polish and a foam attachement on them when the surface started showing some wear that I didn't like. I'm 50/50 with AWE, i had talked to them with a problem and didn't like how they handle things, I like no questions asked return policies and that ain't AWE...lots of hoops to jump through. I really like mine for sound and looks but I wouldn't buy their product again.

I just installed my AWE touring axleback this weekend, very simple process that took under an hour. Car sounds absolutely amazing and the diamond tips are insane. Very happy with the exhaust.

I have the exact set up, except I have the diamond black tips.
It will be loud, and have an awesome sound especially at start up and throttle blip! I get stopped and asked by many people asking what kind of exhaust I have. More than once I was asked if I had a cam...not sure why, maybe they can't tell the sound difference with a cam. I'm always asked what did I do to the motor...Kooks Headers, and AWE Touring Non-Resonated is all. It's a good thing my neighbors are all car guys and they all love the sound too! You will definitely draw attention even when you are just cruising...and when you go WOT...it's just sweet! Congrats...I have no doubt you'll love it! No t-shirt and coffee mug? LOL!!

How is the sound in comparison to the stock NPP system. I frankly don't want to spend 1500$ for a marginal improvment in sound....I am one of the few that thinks the OE NPP actually sounds pretty good....(at least on this forum)

It's a better tone and a lot more volume but short of a race or more aggressive muffler in volume. No Drone.

I had the AWE track on my 18 GT PP1 and i hated the drone. I ended up buying the Touring conversion (basically Mufflers) and the drone was gone. Loudness was very close. I was surprised.
I now have a 19 2SS A10 (i have a bad left knee, dont want to here the man stick is better. lol) I was thinking of doing the same exhaust. I liked how it had a deep tone. Im not a Raspy exhaust fan. I dont care for the Corsa extreme rasp or sound. Do you have any video's of cruising around 2k RPM? |

I had AWE Track and was little to loud with highflown cats.
I just got the AWE Touring installed, the sound is just right. My favorite part is I can listen to radio at low volume on the highway now. There is no drone at any MPH and have awesome deep tone at idle. |
