Exhaust Whistle after cold start

Hello!

I have a 2019 SS with NPP exhaust. It started making a whistle (almost a metal on metal sound). It happens about 7-10 seconds after starting it in the morning? Sometimes it happens on the freeway. It seems to coincide sometimes with the change from V8 to V4. But consistently happens after a cold start. I am thinking it is the exhaust valves closing?

Anyone else have this issue?

I usually keep it in Sport, but I tried starting it in Tour and same thing. Maybe I should try starting it in Track, does the mode effect the initial start up?

Also, dealer kept it for a week. Said they needed to consult with a regional service technician manager? They gave me a loaner for the week, said GM does not have a fix at this time. I just got it back. Oddly, my paperwork states "Customer reports exhaust noise, no abnormal noise heard"?

They state they will contact me if GM offers a fix at some point. Is this normal? Should I be concerned that my paperwork does not state that they heard the noise?

My 2017 has a similar noise and has since new, it does not last long so I have never taken it in to get it checked out.

I have the same kind of car, never noticed anything. The mode does affect startup...I believe though that Tour, Sport, and Track are all the same for the startup, that Stealth is the only one that keeps the valves closed on startup but I could be wrong.

I don't believe you will be able to start it in Track mode. If you turn it off while in Track mode it will default to Touring when you next crank it up. You can leave it in either Touring, or Sport and it will stay there when you next start it.

If you're talking the driving mode, yes, but if you go into the menus and select Track for exhaust, it always stays in Track for the exhaust!

That's true. I should have remembered that since my exhaust is locked into Track.

If you are looking for NPP sound issues
Look at that:

May be not related, but just in case...
