Advice needed - Winter storage.

Car is stored in a non heated garage with a OEM car cover.

Looking to protect the interior. I was thinking of a small space heater that comes on twice day for an hour or so, or maybe a small de-humidifier. I live in the west coast of Canada and during winter rains constantly and temps in the low celcius teens most days. It's really moist here.

Any advice or experience would be great.

Can you run a dehumidifier in the garage? I’d suspect that would be most effective.

Maybe one or two of these in the interior:

It doesn’t need a heater inside or out. I stored numerous Corvettes from Oct till mid April when we lived in Alaska. Just disconnect the battery or connect a battery tender and cover it up.

Tennessee is a lot drier than British Columbia...

I just put mine up Saturday for the winter and I am in Michigan. I added SeaFoam in the gas tank and topped it off with 93 premium and took a 10 mile ride to get the SeaFoam through the gas.
I plugged in my battery tender and will throw my indoor cover on it next week.
I never had a problem storing my Harley or other vehicles in my garage and it is non heated. We had snow yesterday.

Get a car jacket, and or get yourself 2 bags of OmniDry desiccant.

Get some of this and change it out a few times over the winter.

Oh, and for the love of God do not put a heater inside your car. Unless you have really good insurance.

I wouldn’t worry about being heated... that’s a bonus if it is, but not really all that important.

I store my mustang outside with wheel covers (home made) and a car cover. I have a battery tender attached, the exhaust and intake prior to the filter, are stuffed with with steel wool, the HVAC intake has been blocked as well (with painters tape). To ward off critters, I have spearmint oil in baby food jars with holes punched in the top and a few drier sheets around engine bay. For good measure, I may add some battery operated flashing LED’s in the engine bay. I know some of this may be over the top, but I’ve seen and heard first hand about the damage that can be done by little critters.

Storing inside is great, especially if the entry ways are tight. I do nothing for the Camaro stored inside, other than a battery tender and car cover.

Try to resist the start it up for 5 minutes, I know you want to hear it roar.
But unless you are actually going to drive it get everything to to heat cycle it’s one of the bad things you can do.
There will be moisture and starting it creates even more, when you actually drive it, this gets heat cycled out. If you just run it for few minutes, you fling it around and there it sits.

Been storing cars for Canadian winters for a long time. I live in Niagara (also relatively wet/humid as far as Canadian winters go).

You’re fine. You don’t need anything for your interior other than to stay out once you store it. Detail it, fill its tank, install tender, and put on the indoor cover. Then just chill!

+1 for this. I started using it when I was in upstate NY after getting mold and moisture in the car one winter. Never had an issue after, and the tub usually had water in it by spring.
