Auto before they discontinue? (if they do)

What do you guys think? Will GM finally release an auto SS 1LE before they discontinue that Camaro? They did with the ZL1 1LE so why not with the SS at this point? 10 Speed would obviously be faster then the Manual and it would also sell more cars too. So why not?

If they did maybe a 2020 midyear release like they did in the ZL1 1LE?

The SS 1LE is the most road race oriented Camaro available.... you shouldn’t expect an A10.

If this were a thing, I think it would have debuted already. They have an A10 SS and, as you mentioned, an A10 ZL1 1LE. So, if it were planned, I can't see why they wouldn't have offered an A10 SS 1LE already.

That's what was said about the ZL1 1LE, too. Would be a good package (A10 / SS 1LE).

Supposable we have till 2023 for them to discontinue the Camaro. I believe it would be smart for GM to at lease try and push a A10 SS 1LE.

Nothing is official of dying off the Camaro name. Still way early for that. Just waiting to see this time in 2020 when all C8 hype is mellowed out. Then a hard look to see what the sales are looking for both Vette and Camaro. That will have GM to have better look of market sales. Its politics and jobs on the line for Camaro production as well. Hell they may stay Gen6 until 2025 like Dodge has with its muscle. Who knows what Ford will do but I doubt Mustang will die off. I hated the gap of Gen4 and Gen5 Camaro. I would not mind seeing a plug in hybird platform with gas turbo main drive and electric option city use. As long as it has the power of current muscle.

Agree with all options on the table with the 1LE SS and V6 1LE

With 1LE sales in the thousands (not tens of thousands), GM will not go to the expense of running a 1LE auto version through CAFE and other government testing.

Not sure it would be smart. I don't think it would make financial sense; the expenses associated would be difficult to justify for a few more sales on a vehicle that already doesn't sell very much. You just want one lol.

Do they sell more ZLE's than SS 1LE's or something? Why does it make more sense for one than the other? I would love to see it myself, makes sense, but I am a manual guy so dont really care.

1LE is an option package, not a model or trim. Zero additional testing over what's already been done.

IMO, ZLE only went A10 because of the GT500..

And the A8 auto transmission had NOTHING to do with it?

An A10 1LE would be dope! I thought I'd never say this but the A10 is really good.
