Same here guys. I'm pondering on whether or not to buy the Flowmaster scavenger x pipe. I'm more interested in sound
If the AFM valves decide to rattle down the road, then I think I will buy it because the X pipe comes with a pair of AFM valves. I heard Chevy replaces the whole catback if the AFM valves break or rattle. PPS. If you want your system even louder, pull fuse #51 and the NPP valves will stay open 24/7. |

can someone guide me how to attach my video of the FM exhaust set up sound? I have it from the interior only at the current time but it will help the sound curiousity.

I can't imagine having this exhaust (or any) with an auto tranny since the car is constantly fighting you to put the car into whatever gear makes sense from a green new deal standpoint unless you're stretching it out. Auto trannies sound like crap when they are going through the gears compared to manuals, but that's my opinion.
With the Flowmaster American Thunder, I can notice a noise when the valves close, but it's more of a different sound than OEM. When I go outside the car, I could be convinced that the valves were slightly buzzing. But it is nothing like the DEFECTIVE GM valves that clearly rattle and can be heard from inside the car anytime the valves are closed. I still had this issue even after the dealer put their epoxy sh!t on the exhaust to fix an obvious engineering defect, that is within the emissions system. GM engineers make a collosal screw up; answer: put some silly putty in there. I decided to buy an aftermarket axle back which I'm happy with even though it was delivered with rust and corrosion. Damn they just beat you down until you're ready to say yessa! |

My A8 doesn't shift like a stock SS anymore. I have AFM disabled and the converter doesn't lock part throttle until 8th gear @ 55mph. So all it does is shift without the extra bullshit from AFM kicking in and out or the converter locking in second gear on. I can be cruising at 35 mph, give it 1/4 throttle and rpms jump to 2400rpm and it pulls. No waiting for a converter to unlock. It's how the A8 should be but the reason why GM doesn't program it that way is due to fuel mileage. Between the Whipple, E85, and my Trans tune, I average 15mpg ,23mpg HWY. Don't care tho because it's not my daily.

I have the American Thunder Flowmaster exhaust with the Scavenger X pipe and it sounds down good to me and is everything I ever wanted in an exhaust.
