That’s painful to see, hoping for the best outcome for you. Maybe push for a diminished value on the car. My 2500HD was hail damaged but not nearly to that extent and PDR work took all the dents out, looks great. With all the replacement panels and work, I would focus on body panel gaps after repair, overspray, no damaged headliner or interior panels before driving away. Good luck!

Wow! Sorry to hear about the damage to your car. That's crazy. Glad to hear that your insurance is going to cover the repairs and that you have found a shop you trust to do the work. And it looks to be a lot of work. I hope it turns out better than new.

Can not claim diminished value on a "act of god" Would be nice though.

Any possible way PDR (paintless dent removal) can be used here?

PDR is being used on the doors and possibly the roof. I was told the roof is a long shot, and the rest is cheaper to just replace.

Genuine question, with such extensive body damage why wouldn't you want it to be totaled? Do you have a lot of expensive mods that wouldn't be covered by insurance? With the amount of circles in those pics you posted I'd pray that insurance would total it if it was mine. Having basically every panel replaced is not a good look for resale value.

I do not plan on selling this one. It's not my decision to have it totaled. No mods other than cosmetic.

Estimate for repair is 21k. Insurance is covering everything with oem parts. Rear quarters are being replaced, as well as the roof skin. I'm freaking out on the amount of work being done.
Looks totaled.

I would look into diminished value. Usually you can’t get from your own insurance. But this is usually because damage is caused by owner which in this case it wasn’t.

That big of repair will probably hurt resale value.

Yea i'm in Sherman.
We don't get this type of hail often. Last time was back in 2002. It's rare for sure.

I’m sorry to see what happened to your baby. Hopefully they will get everything perfect for you again. But now we’re not moving to Texas. Vegas is hotter than hell but doesn’t get the kind of weather. Best of luck to you.

Ouch! I've been there!

Between a combination of replacement, refinishing, and PDR my previous car was as good as new. It also had an aluminum hood and it looked like someone took a baseball bat to it!. (2005 Subaru WRX STi) Somehow it never showed up on Carfax or any other database even though it was all handled through insurance. I did choose my own shop however!

This was 10+ years ago but the car looked great until the day I traded it in on the Camaro!

Hope it all works out for you!

jeeeeesuuuuss.... Thats crazy. Sorry to see it.

Keep us posted on how the repairs go. Id be kinda interesting to see how they are going to cut everything and replace it.

A way to look at is that an interesting photo album can be created from you at least i guess as a memory/story for the car if you plan to keep it.

Thankfully it wasnt a write off and your able to have it fixed!

Best of luck with everything!
