2017 Camaro Convertible problems. PLEASE HELP!!!

Hello fellow Camaro drivers here’s my issue
I can put the top down on my car but the button to put the roof back up isn’t responding. I press down on the down to put the roof back up for the rain and nothing is happening. If you have had this problem, please tell me what the issue is and how to resolve it.

That could be a lot of things. You don’t give much detail. Was it working before and it just recently stopped working? Hopefully you’re still within the bumper-to-bumper warranty period and the dealer can fix it under warranty.

I had the same problem - fortunately, mine happened with 2 months left of the warrantee... Turns out it was the switch.

The crazy part was I had dropped it off in the morning for the dealer to "diagnose" it - they came back with unable to replicate. When I picked it up, I tried it in the parking lot and it didn't work. I immediately drove it into the open bay and showed the service advisor. He said the mechanic had to replicate it even if though he was watching it not work

At the end of it, they replaced the top switch

If you are trying to put the top up with the remote, it won't work. Remote only opens.
Are there any messages on the info screen above the steering wheel when you try?

It started doing this like 3 months ago.
And no I’m not trying to put the top back with the remote, I know that doesn’t work.

@gchu do you remember how much that “switch replacement” cost?

Sorry - it was covered under the 3/36 warrantee.... Online, it looked like the part is less than $17 (+shipping) - Top Switch - GM (22774050) - Tasca parts

There's a few write ups on the forum on installing homelink (it's in the same header area as the top switch) so it may not be too bad of a DYI

Good luck

There are several threads on this and is typically intermittent at first and fixed by replacing the switch.

If youre wondering, I had a 2011 Vert with the top replaced 3 times so i did some research before buying another comaro convertible.

Same thing happened to me and they changed the switch module which was covered under warranty.

My 2012 had 3 fabric pieces, 1 frame & 2 sets of water bags. This 2016 vert is leagues above the 5th gens
