Sorry to see that, I would be out of my mind right now. First get the claim going and if you want make clear to the agent that you plan to file for diminished value. You will have to wait until the initial claim is accepted and then start a diminished value claim. Here's my experience: They will have a sleazy agent call you and make some lowball offer, and its up to you to get that number as high as possible. I was hit in a low speed collision in a round about in my 2011 Accord. The damage was a bit less than yours, and after a bit of bartering I received 2,500 for diminished value. I never checked my carfax after that, which was a big mistake. 3 years later I trade it for my camaro and found out the wording in the carfax stated major structural damage and possible safety issues. This was a huge exaggeration of the truth, and though I provided pictures to the dealership of the accident, I didnt get nearly what I was hoping for on trade. If I had known about the innacurate report right after the claim, I would have taken the time to contest it, but it was too late when I was sitting there about to buy my Fifty.
Just be thorough, dont take a lowball offer for diminished value, and follow up with carfax afterwards.

Sorry to see that man. People have no regard for other drivers now-a-days. If he is too elderly to see a Camaro behind him, he doesn't need to be driving anywhere.

I would probably be incarcerated right now after that.

The funny thing is, after I calmed down that was one of the 1st things I noticed and chuckled about. Nobody was hurt which I am thankful for, but it was such an unnecessary wreck. His vehicle had scratches and damage all over so this was not a 1st, which I made clear to the insurance company. Aslong as he takes responsibility with the insurance company, it is what it is. He said all the right things but we’ll see tomorrow when I hear from his adjuster.

I do intend to be clear that I will pursue a diminished value claim. It’ll be my first time so I expect it’ll be a fight.

One quick concern, I've had the car for all of 8 hours now and I still have an erection. Should I be concerned and at what point do I need to see a doctor?!?!?!

As long as your back don't hurt and you are not going blind, I would not worry about it. Your jaw will start to hurt also from permagrin.
