I messed up.
Was backing out of a tiny space and accidentally scraped my back fender
What's the best way I could fix it? |

From the pic, I’d say thats a re-paint. $500 and 3-5 days at the body shop. That’s if it does not extend into the door panel. Then its gonna be $1000-1500.

You could probably polish out some of it, and reduce the appearance of the rest, but if you wanted that completely gone, what they said above.

Be careful with "save your deductible" shops. The deductible doesn't just disappear and the insurance company doesn't pay it. It has to come from somewhere and the only place it can come from is the profit from the body shop. That generally means cutting steps or sub-par work. There's no such thing as a free lunch and body shops are for profit businesses. Go to a reputable body shop that offers a lifetime warranty.

Doesn't appear to be body damage, which is good. Should be an easy repair. I'd mention to the shop(s) that give you an estimate that you may be interested in paying cash and see if they'll come down in price.
This would be out of pocket damage for me. I really don't want to get my insurance company involved unless it's something I can't afford to pay for. |
