Force start in Track mode

Is there any ODB plugin tool or even a tune that would allow the car to start in Track mode? I hate how the GM software devs were lazy pieces of shit and copy + pasted the C7 code without using their ****ing brains. My ZLE doesn't have suspension that could crack a wheel in Track mode, it'll do that for free in Tour mode. There is no reason why I shouldn't have the car default to Track mode settings so I can get the 1:1 throttle map without a bunch of janky workarounds.

By "janky workarounds" do you mean having to press the mode selector 2 times after you start the car?

Not good to keep things bottled up. Should tell us how you really feel.

Now, with all that pent-up anger released, in terms of an actual solution there was a thread with a member who developed electronics to automatically turn on rev matching after starting the engine (by sending a paddle activation signal on the CAN bus).

The idea is the same here, sending 2 mode button selection impulses. Find the thread and ask the guy if he's willing to help you out or work with you.

It’s not GM, it’s the government and lawyers that create these start up defaults.

There is a reason why when you start the car, the TC and other nannies are back on.

I haven't done it yet, but I am planning to do the rematch mod and I got my inspiration from this thread:

There is also this thread:

You might be able to do something similar with the mode control button.

The two options are aftermarket throttle controller or a tune. Tune is less janky, but I shouldn't have to void a warranty or risk suing GM over powertrain issues just to get 1:1 throttle response.

For the C7, GM has publicly said they don't allow starting up in Track mode because the suspension gets so tight it cracks wheels and there's already a class action lawsuit on the shitty wheels on the GS and Z06.

Looked through both and I don't think that'll work with drive modes. Those two features they did it with are toggles. Either on or off. The drive mode isn't just an electrical signal that tells the BCM on or off, it's one of several settings that is handled by the infotainment.

It's just ridiculous that Euro cars generally have it switchable in the programming and you just need something to set the value in the actual infotainment code to tell it to default in "x" mode, but there's nothing in the GM world that can alter the infotainment code. I don't mind voiding the warranty of my infotainment, but it's not worth voiding my powertrain warranty just to make the car drive more like it was on a cable throttle.

I just want 5% throttle to mean 5% throttle blade opening and 85% throttle to do the same. I don't want the car to give me 75% throttle opening at 25% throttle because it wants to pretend like it's more powerful than it is.

I've spent 2 hours today searching various phrases for this thread, but can't find anything. Might be lost to time, but to be honest I'd be more comfortable rewriting the infotainment code than trying to figure out how to piggyback off of CAN bus signals. I'm a software engineer by trade, not an electrical engineer.

Me, too I downloaded the GM emulator for the 2.5 platform and registered as a developer, but it was extremely limited, it seems basically the only thing one can do is write extra infotainment apps that have access to a very small amount of context...

If you want a software only solution, I'd try contacting https://www.whiteautoandmedia.com directly and ask Chris White if he can maybe hack something in.

1) pull fuse 51 so that the exhaust is always in track mode.(baffles always open)
2) select track suspension and track steering in the computer. This over rides the toggle mode switch.
3) throttle control module set accordingly to match the throttle response of track mode. Again, set it and forget it.
These effects will stay consistent with each cycle of the ignition

That's still only a partial solution, though... OP probably wants track mode to be activated with all its features.
