P1X, cam, headers, LT4 HPFP dyno

Picking my car up on Tuesday from Complete Street Performance. It made 722 horsepower, is anyone hooking up on the street with a run flat? How well does traction control work making this much power? Unfortunately when I bought the car last year I didn't notice they put 285's on the rear as replacements... Looking to possibly run Michelin PS4S after I quickly burn these off.

You wont hook with any runflats i know of... and traction contol will depend on the tune. Traction control on mine tends to buck and surge a bit. More pronounced with my increased power level. Just more difference between dialed back power and full power.

I havent spent any time tuning for that. In any case get some good sticky tires, DRs, R888s, etc or you wont have much fun. Unless you like squirreling all over the place when you punch it. If you need all seasons ive found the Michelin AS3+ decent... but dont expect them to hook under power. They just do better in the cold.

Your video doesn't show a dyno graph, so I don't know how much torque you're making at what rpms, but you most likely have no chance from a dig unless you put on drag radials. I have 305/35/20 PS4S rears, because I mostly drive the car "normally", occasionally caught in huge downpours, and at 735 rwhp and 665-670 peak torque there is simply no 0-60 even with these tires, they confine the car to rolls.

I've heard many a praise sung about the Nitto 555RIIs here with much higher hp cars than ours, I'll try those next once my PS4S set wears out.

run flats barely do anything for traction on stock cars...

That's what I figured, will most likely just be spin city till 4th gear.

Less instant torque than your Maggie which may help some. How do the Michelins do on a 60 roll?

Yes, that's why I mentioned the dyno graph, your torque is ramping in less hard, with no data it's kinda hard to tell what would happen. At my power level I can easily do 50 rolls with the Maggie once the tires are warm, 60 is not a problem.

Put a 555r2 on the back. They are the best tire you can buy for a balance of traction, tread wear, street-ability. Honestly it's hard to tell you have a drag radial on the car. They drive as nice as any high performance street tire. Using Dragy I have pulled 3.0 0-60's with them(305/35/20) launching from 2nd gear on the street.

Gotcha, will definitely have some fun doing rolls before I swap tires then.

Will do. How are they in the twisties? This thing is a complete animal on the back roads even stock.

I don't road course but I have done some 1/4 mi street pulls and have had to hit a corner coming in hot around 70-80 slowing down and they handled perfectly fine. I usually stick to 1/8 mi pulls for this reason but if the run looks like it might be a PB then it's full send LOL!! I honestly can't tell a difference on cornering from when I had run flats. They will easily handle a evasive maneuver in the event another driver pulled some dumb shit.

I know 1LE guys don't want to sacrifice handling but I would be interested to hear some feed back from guys with 1LE's that have tried pushing them a bit on the back roads with these tires. I believe the old 555r's would compromise too much handling but since Nitto stiffened up the sidewalls on the 555r2, I think they might work good and still offer a good all around balance.

The Toyo R888's are also good but noisy.

Wait, didn't your car come with Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar 3R run-flats? They will hook at wot with nannies off at >40 mph on warm dry streets after they're warmed up. The 4S will offer much less traction in those conditions but might be the best all-around tire.

Currently I have BF Goodrich G Force Comp 2 A/S on there. Guessing they were all changed out at some point.
