Reading lights always on

My reading lights turn on when I start the car and stay on until I shut them off. Shouldn’t they fade out?

Did you try going into the vehicle settings to see if there's different lighting modes that would cause this? Seems like I had to do this on car I had at one time

Could be the brightness knob is turned all the way, which would keep the reading lights on as well as the cluster/radio full brightness. It's the top knob in the picture, left of the steering wheel, turn it left and if it clicks on the first movement then that's your answer.

You got three possible suggestions. Which "that" is it that did it?

So far as I know the reading lights can’t be turned off. They stay on all the time you have the car running.

???

I think you mean "running" lights as in Daytime Running Lights? As opposed to the overhead map (reading) lights?

Turn the knob counterclockwise till you feel it stop and then turn the knob clockwise until you feel the click, the click means it always stays on anything to the left of the click (counter clockwise ) is a variable adjustment
