You have to "key" it to run first, meaning hold the start button for 5 seconds without the clutch or brake. Then you can do a drive mode or engine sound selection to pick stealth before starting. I believe stealth is the only mode that keeps the valves closed during startup, all others are open.

Have you tried stealth mode? there is a difference, at least in the LT1, with stealth mode. You do have to remember to either turn it to stealth mode or Snow/Ice prior to turning off.

If you turn it off it'll revert back to "tour" when you key it back on. I'm pretty sure for leaving exhaust mode in auto and setting drive mode to snow/ice that's the case at least, would need to double check manually setting exhaust mode to stealth.

Stealth does quiet down cold start though. Starting in Tour or Sport seems the same as I think the valves are opened on start either mode. If I want a quiet start (early morning or neighbors outside or something) I will manually put it in stealth mode and start the car with the garage door closed and it isn't too loud at all. |

Fair, I haven't tried turning it to Snow/Ice mode to leave off yet, it hasn't been snowy or icy.

Yup, I think Tour and Sport are the only modes that it can keep over key cycles. If Track or Snow/Ice are picked when you shut it off it'll be in Tour next time you start it up, maybe Sport if that logic changed for MY18 or later.

Yep. Safety first and low surprise factor next. Understandable, if mildly annoying.

You guys are crazy. Buy a large displacement V8 muscle car then worry about waking up neighbours from starting the car. What’s the point of having a Camaro then? Might as well buy something like a Cruze. Last thing on my mind when shopping for a car is “damn this is loud, my neighbors will hate me”.

You have Stealth Mode. You will need to go into the correct infotainment screen. Go to vehicle settings - > drive mode - > engine sound - > stealth mode BK |
