Thats really good for you sir. Good numbers on a moderate tune.

I can't wait to see how the zl1 reacts to some light bolt ons. Hopefully the A10 will holdup.

Buying a ZL1 in the first year is just stupid. UNLESS YOU BUY TO DRIVE THE SHIT OUT OF IT.

Mine has probably lost $10,000 already and its not even on the train yet.

A new 2015 honda civic bought in 2016 might be the smartest vehicle purchase known to man. You'll lose only 10% for a couple years. To use the word appreciation or depreciation suggests an investment transaction which cars are not,,,unless you garage it for 20 years.

Your ZL1 may be losing money as we speak, but its a hell of a way to do it! As supercars go, its the cheapest option out there.
I would say bars definitely are number 1!

Automobiles are awful investments. You lose 30% when you drive it off the lot. Accept it and enjoy your car.

I know this is not a *reason to buy a car but it factors in when i would spend at extra 15K. Thats the one thing I like about the shelby is it really holds its value. any thoughts appreciated !

No one had a crystal ball 5 years ago about a global pandemic with disruptions to supply chains.

We keep hearing stories of how much money people made selling their cars during this time, trouble is most of them have issues finding a suitable alternative.

If they do, they are choked by the massively inflated prices for used/new.

Not really. People just got spoiled. I remember when people on this forum cried that if they couldn't get 10% off MSRP or other astronomical discounts they were getting a "bad deal". Guess what that gets all of us? Heavily depreciating cars. If you play your cards right, work with a dealer and planned ahead or plan ahead now, you can get the replacement car that you want. You'll get top dollar for your ZL1 and pay MSRP for the new one...As it should be. You know what Ferrari customers have paid for their cars for decades? MSRP. Not a penny less. Their values stay high all throughout the cycle of the car because they're hard to get and do not get discounted. Right now, that's how Corvettes and Camaros are too (among dozens of other cars) and sure enough it's emulating the markets that used to be reserved for only the highest and most exclusive brands. Personally, I welcome this new normal. It works out better for everyone. $5000 off MSRP but taking a $20,000+ depreciation bath is a lot worse than just paying MSRP and selling it for maybe $5000-$10,000 less than MSRP a couple years later.

Yes but for those of us who bought our cars new for 20% under sticker thanks to those massive incentives 2 years ago are better off buying and holding.

Staying the course with these cars is more important as racking on miles and still being able to sell at no less than $5,000 under original MSRP is more satisfying.

Why buy a car to not drive it and worry about miles and resale ??? There are much far better investments then a car. This isn’t a museum artifact.

I will drive mine until I’m either sick of it or the rapture comes.

I think the people who are concerned are the ones who put little to no money down and have a massive car payment.

I drive my car (it's not a garage queen). It sees spirited runs on backroads and has plenty of track time as well. I plan on racking up miles in abandon.
