305/35/20 dr on stock wheel report

I haven't seen a specific thread on this but have seen a couple of people mention that it works in other threads.

I am here to say it works well and post up a few pics.

I love the big tire look so this was a no brainer for me. I can see the tire is pulled in slightly at the rim because the rim is a little skinny for the tire but overall I think it makes the car look much more aggressive.

it is very tight in the front. after driving it for an hour or so and making ~10 hard launches I can see where the tire is rubbing the inner part of the fender well but it hasn't rubbed through yet. I have seen pics of other cars and expect it to rub through eventually. I did the harness relocation trick to be safe.

I put 24psi in them and went for a spin. WAY quieter and much smoother ride. the car is actually nicer for me to drive. I never once felt it was wallowy or less controlled but I do not drive aggressively other than in a strait line. I will probably bump that pressure up to 30psi for daily driving. no abs lights or anything like that.

for traction they are night and day better and they are not even broken in or warmed up. before all of 1st and 2nd were useless. I had to do my testing starting in 3rd from about 2500rpm and still had major traction issues. now I can start in 2nd gear and dead hook from any rpm and can even use 1st effectively if I modulate the throttle a little. once the streets warm up and I warm up the tires I could see dead hooking in 1st.

Thanks, man. Mine are going on this week. I will relocate the harness, also. They look awesome!

Those look nasty! I upgraded to 20x11 rims in the rear so these should fit my car perfectly! I currently have 305/35/20 A/S tires on the rear so these would swap out great for the track.

How much did these run you, like $300 each?

I bought a set of 10.5 inch Verde wheels from a forum member and am putting Nitto 555Rs on. I have had quite a few sets of MTs in the past, just thought I would give these a try. I'm waiting for my TPMS sensors to arrive before I get them mounted and installed. I have the same wheel for the front and have stock size Nitto Invos to install.

I can't wait to get mine on and test them out. Thanks for your post, very encouraging...lol.

I wish there was a DIY how to on the cable relocation, but I'm told it's very easily done.

I ordered the same tires for the back on Friday and will be mounting them on my 20x11 Forgeline VX1's. Snowblind, another long-time member of the forum, recommended them with one caveat - you need to relocate the driver's side wiring harness. The car will squat during a launch so you might want to do that before you drive too much on them.

I read one on here. Did a search not turn up anything?

Edit: I found this on Sledgehammer's DIY youtube channel. It should help you out.
