Understand now?
I get it, it looks cool and keeps the interior cooler, but it ain’t worth it.
this.forget to roll the windows down when you get stopped by the law, reach for your registration, and maybe we will be reading about you in the paper.

I had to roll my windows at night in parking garages etc when I had 20%. Just had them swapped to 35% for inspection, and at this point I am sticking with that.

Just not worth it, 35% is not enough in summer heat in Texas but I am over the tickets and cost of redoing it.

5% Just sounds dangerous due to the lack of visibility.

I have 25% ceramic on mine. Not sure I would go darker than 20%, as I had 5% on my excursion and was always rolling down the window at night to back up. (It sucked)

I have 35% ceramic sides and rear which is the legal limit here. Looks good and keeps the car cool in the summer and no visibility issues.

As others have mentioned, a little courtesy goes a long way (usually). Pull well over, windows down, interior light on if it’s dark outside, hands on steering wheel. Those things send a message, I’m not a threat and I respect your concerns. Don’t BS the cop and quite often you leave with either a warning or a reduced ticket. With six years plus driving red 6th Gen Camaros I’m batting .600, two no slack tickets (one super speeder, ouch) two warnings, and one super speeder dropped enough not to carry points.

I have 25% all around. I wouldn't go darker than that. My SUV is 5% rear and it is DARK! Fortunately, it has huge mirrors and rear camera, but no way I would tint the Camaro to 5%.

Wifey is already complaining about the 35% tint on the SUV, and it definitely can be felt at night on mountain roads. There is no way I'd go with 5%, IMO it's suicide.

I have 5% sides/rear and 50% on the windshield. I live in 29 Palms, about 2 meters from the sun so it is nice having dark tint.

I only have problems when I'm driving in the middle of the desert on a moonless night but even then it isn't that bad because there is nothing coming from the sides lol.

I tinted all of my windows to 5%, but I also have a vert and the windows are down most of the time anyway. At night it can be difficult to see out of the windows, but I'll just put the window down if I really can't see. Living in TX I don't really have to worry much about being too cold where I need the windows up.

My vision is really good also, so that is another way I justify it in my head.

Picked up a LT1 that had 5% on the back and quarter windows. Impossible to see out of at night and even in the day it was very hard to see out of. Just had the car retinted this morning with 35% all around. So much better.

So I've been on this forum since December 2016 and I still find it funny the complaints I've heard from people who buy a Camaro and post they can't see out of the car, then people actually put 5 % tint on a car that people complain about visibility. The police love to stop you so go get it but don't complain you can't see when turning or backing up at night, etc. Might as well just paint the windows black with a can of Krylon spray paint. I think the ticket in most states is $75 to $150.

I had mine tinted with ceramic last week and am really happy with it. 35% front windshield, 5 % brow and 15% on the rest. It's dark but I'm OK with it. It's a convertible and will be mostly driven when it's nice outside. Otherwise, I will roll down my windows going through some of the small towns that rely on tickets for revenue.
