I’ve actually got some posted in a thread I made out it here on the forum. They’re from when I first did it, so it doesn’t look as clean as it did before I tore it back apart.

Here are a few I had from when I first did it. The top plate/cover was replaced and cut better. So it looks a lot cleaner. Also the tube has been powder coated since.

Weird question but can you drive in the rain with the Hi Ram manifold ?

Not sure if it would suck in water or not

Never had an issue with mine.

So first question I’d ask what do you want to do with the car roll/street, actual drag, or road racing? I think that will determine what works an what’s hurts, there’s lots of threads about using the LT2 intake from a C8 Vette.

Hmm, Why not the LT2 manifold instead of the MSD which is too pricey and only slightly more effective even ported, I had one. Or a Hi Ram with the same drawbacks, and you will need a new hood. You can even use the C8 cover. Is there some problem with the LT2 IM I do not know about?

I'm interesting in full bolt ons for road racing. I like the idea of using a ported LT2 intake at ~1/2 price of MSD

E85 is another one. But not sure you have access. It adds no measurable weight to the car. Given that my passion is drag racing I understand weight is the enemy much like you I suppose. While I like the torque vectoring diff, I am glad my LT1 does not have one. 40 pounds extra! This is one of the reasons the SS1LEs are a tenth or 2 slower in the 1/4. But on a race track the SS1LEs are the real deal. I gave up on tracks with curves when I lost a car and almost lost a friend who was driving it there.

Oh one thing. LTs give you 15 RWHP and fatten the torque and HP curves a bit which is a nice gain. But unless you put on resonators they can be really loud and make a very high pitch screaming sound. This will be a problem at some tracks. So if you have not heard them already you might want to listen to an LT1 powered car before you splurge on them. Also they are a real PIA to install on a Camaro and can exacerbate LT1 starter problems.

I am not putting LTs on my LT1.
