BFG Comp 2 A/S vs General GMAX AS-05

Anyone run both of these? Looking for comments particularly on ride and noise. They are pretty close on price.
I currently have the Generals as my winter tire (winter enough for south jersey) on a set of 5-spoke SS wheels. I am finishing up my last few months/miles on the summer run-flats which came with the car on the 50th Anniv wheels. I am going with another set of all-seasons once those are toast. The run-flats are about as refined as those rocks on the Flintstonemobile.
From reviews on-line comparing these two:
Comp 2 - better wet performance
GMAX - better tread life, newer design (whatever that is worth)

I like the Generals. They're a few years newer than the 2 A/S.

I have the BFG's and they're fine. I just hate the look. The BFGs look like a truck tire. I'll post both tires up.

I ran the BFG on the 1LE and Mustang GT/PP1 before that, I really like them to use them on both cars but the sidewall is not a pretty one. Great tire in winter cold to sub freezing temps. Was not great on snow, I always had the option of just not going to work if it did snow and wait it out a day for plows and treatment. I didn't have to push it with snow. Most I'd do on snow with the BFG was up to an inch. I recommend them. I'm wary of General it's just a lesser name tire company which may or may not be true but that's just an opinion.

My budget allows it and this time I'll probably step up to the Michelin AS3+ in the late fall.

The BFG's were slippery, terrible in snow, decent in the wet.

Lasted 22k miles.
Not good for the track IMHO

BFGoodrich has released a new version of the Comp 2 A/S, called the Comp 2 A/S Plus.

I put BFG G-Force Comp 2 A/S on my 1LE for DD. Quiet. Doesn’t throw gravel. Good grip. Good in rain and cold. No snow where I am. I use the OEM F1’s for track days.
Only head to head test was 0 to 60. F1 were .2 to .4 quicker but the BFG’s not as wide.

255/35 ZR20 in front and 275/35 in the rear. They look good. Speedo difference from OEM is negligible.

OE 1LE wheels? That's quite a stepdown in widths for those wheels if so. I ran 275/35 and 285/35.

I bought a new set of wheels for DD.
20X9 FLOW ONE RACE SPEC F2 GLS BLACK and 20x10 in the back.

I believe the tires are the same size as a regular SS with the Brembo’s or at least an OEM alternative. Tire Rack wouldn’t guarantee fitment on the 1LE or show those sizes as an OEM alternative because of liability. They said they could only endorse rears of the same width according to their legal dept because they won’t grip as much. They fit perfectly and the outer diameters are virtually identical to the OEM. So they look right.

So I hit a pothole yesterday and punctured the sidewall of my passenger front tire. Stopped before I chewed up the tire and rim and call a Flatbed to come pick it up. Free towing through USAA. Firestone where I have the road hazard on the Toyo Proxes4 did not have any replacements in stock and needed new rear tire in a month anyway, so I got the General G Max AS05 front and rear and see if they do ok Anybody have any complaints about these tires so far? Thanks

My complaint about the Gmax As05 is they feel floaty, and more tire roll than the stock run flats. If I could do it again I’d fork out for the run flats. It’s a different car. Much flatter driving experience on the run flats and you can push the car more aggressively, the car is more predictable.

As05 are excellent in rain, although the runflats did fine in the snow! But we’re terrible in wet conditions, it got real loose one time and then I was puckered up whenever driving in rain!

As05 are excellent everyday tires.

Anyone tracking these as05’s

Do the PS4’s have much tire roll?
