Its been stated as an early 09 release for a long, long time now. That should really come as no surprise.

They have also released cars in the winter. It isn't as if it never happens, its just rare and people rarely notice it.

Vibe, G8, and Astra are all being released "Early 08". The general trend is roughly late summer introductions of new model years without any major changes. New generations/redesigns tend to be mid to late fall, completely new models tend to come later. Of course that is all very rough and there are tons of exceptions, but generally that's how it goes. First quarter release of a completely new vehicle seems perfectly in line with common practice to me. First quarter 09 is a lot closer than you think, and the timing, depending on how late in the first quarter they intend to release it, allows the production model to be introduced at SEMA, Los Angeles, or Detroit. Chicago is probably far too late, even Detroit is pushing it, so my guess would be SEMA or Los Angeles. I'm pulling for Los Angeles, because if they reveal it there, I will be camped out in front the night before it opens to the public.

I saw that, and I hope the same thing. It would be really exciting when/if they put it up.

Yeah, it's just a forum's own homemade countdown to the first of October, as far as I can tell. It's a neat idea, but... since there really isn't any concrete date that GM has released.
I'm really interested in a GM-sponsered and approved countdown. Like Dodge has with the Challenger. THAT would be cool |
