C7 Carbon's ZL1 1LE wing installed

Since their thread seems to have gotten messed up, I wanted to show what this wing looks like when actually made for our cars. They have the 14-15 ready to go, and almost have the 10-13 ready to go. Obviously, being the Z/28 forum, 14-15 is for us.

I love this thing. First carbon fiber piece I've ever purchased and glad I am for it! Their fiberwork is impressive. I opted for the CF wing, with satin black 6.25" uprights to match my trim and to put the wing damn near original factory height. IMO, this is what these cars should have left factory with. I've already noticed a difference in just highway driving, and have my first track day of the year this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway to really see how it performs.

Thank you! Me too.. those sort of happened by accident lol. My guy needed to redo the headlight buckets because the wrap was lifting, so he cut the wrap that shape to do an inlay.. and I looked at it and said let's just put satin black on there instead of the copper. Kind of a throwback to my 3rd gen!

I really like it and I’m usually not a fan of big rear spoilers.

Does the wing have any form of adjustment or is it fixed?

Has the trunk lid been reinforced in any way for the increased downforce the wing is anticipated to produce? I have seen other wings installed on Z/28s with a reinforced carbon fiber trunk lid that produced enough downforce on the trunk lid that it pushed down into the tail lights, cracking them.

Beyond what you have already done, will you being adding any additional downforce on the front to improve equal balance between front and rear?

It is a fixed wing.

We are working on coming up with a solution. Don (Hammdo on here) and I have discussed doing the kevlar reinforcement as an option. The footprint of these uprights is a bit wider than the factory version, so that should certainly help spread the load. None of the tracks around here are long enough for me to get higher than 125mph in stock engine form, so...

I might. Just depends. I have an idea in the works with my shop on smoothing out the underside of the car, and I have debated adding an additional lip to the front splitter that is removable as I do street drive. I won't know until I track it to see what more needs to be done.

That looks mean on your build, definitely makes the car way more aggressive!

I think so. I am enjoying this car the more it develops. Next on the list is 18" wheels for track duty, followed up by engine mods.. once I can decide and get the funds together. otherwise, outside is pretty much done! Inside still needs stuff.. swap my BK harness bar for a cage etc. Maybe.

On a side note, I am open to all suggestions on how to make sure the down force is evened out? Opinions, thoughts, and suggestions are always welcome. I was under the impression that the factory front splitter was more than adequate, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Looks awesome!

I think you might get away without the trunk reinforcement with that particular wing as you say it has 3 large feet which is gonna spread the load out pretty evenly.

Thanks Pat! I appreciate it!

That may be true, and only actually testing it on a course will tell, but my shop and I are brainstorming and we might have a solution in the works.
