Yeah all you need to run E85 is the kit and a tune, wide band is not needed.

I did the flex fuel kit and tune for 410.00. I didn't need a wideband to do it...not really that big of a deal on a bolt-on car. My car ran 11.5 on the street with simple bolt-ons and pulled a stock Hell Cat Charger, so it was proper for the minimal mods.

I didn't divulge into pricing because there are a lot of variables. Flex fuel can cost anywhere from 500.00+ depending on the year of vehicle, brand of flex fuel kit, if you need to purchase Hpt, and how you go about tuning. You won't do it for as cheap as I did mine because flexfuel kits have increased in price, but a diy type individual can still do it for much less the 1500.00.
Even at $1500, it is still the best bang for buck mod you can do when it comes to power gained per $ spent (well maybe outside of a N02 kit).

It’s a REALLY bad idea to mess with fueling and have no idea what your AFRs are doing. And you don’t without a WB 02.

FF is a fantastic mod for the $/power.

Just trying to make sure that people coming from other platforms understand what’s actually needed.

FF is NOT E85. It’s far more versatile and there are some additional costs associated.

If he is planning on having his car tuned by someone he won't need a wideband because his tuner will have one to tune with. My car was tuned by a tuner and I do not have a wideband because it isn't needed.

Guys like Pray have done enough bolt-on tunes that they can send out a base tune that is pretty much spot on. I purchased a base reference tune from Pray and wrote the tune myself which reduced the cost of the tune because it takes hours to write. All I had to do was tweak the MAF to get the fuel trims dialed. A wideband is always a good idea but it's not required on a bolt-on car.

+1

Running without wideband is risk. Its one of best way to have communication with a car.

Pray tuned mine. He required a WB.

Sounds like you have far more skill and knowledge than the average user looking for a FF solution.

Most guys, like me, take their car to a shop who tunes it with a wideband so they won't need one.

At the time he offered a discounted base tune as a reference that he would email. The end user had to write it which takes a significant amount of time. I imagine he quit offering it being he received too many questions or the end user screwing things up. I honestly would recommend just letting him tune it. I never claim to be a tuner and anybody that has PM'd me asking for help I send directly to him. I won't tune others cars, but I do know a bit about these ECM's thanks to Brett. I give all credit to him and very much appreciate the info he has shared with me.

Really an odd thread when you read through it. OP originally asked about CAI with E85 and which one is recommended, then he/she/it says there's a roto fab in the garage and talking to tuners. What's the point?

Time. Time is what happened. I asked a question started to get answers and further researched myself and found that yes a CAI would be helpful. So I went and got a rotofab. Then bought even more stuff.
I hope you're less confused.

I just ordered a Pray Performance FF kit, should have it Tuesday and can't wait to switch from Vp 109 to E85. The Roto-Fab is the way to go.
