Bias mostly. But the 1le is a complete package.

Outside of price, these two cars don't really warrant comparison.

As was previously suggested, go test drive a PP1 and a 1LE and you will quickly realize they are on two completely different levels. The minor power bump in the Bullit compared to a PP1 won't make or break your decision either.

I do think, FWIW, the Bullit will retain better value. 1LE's are already going mid to low $30K's used and something about these special edition Ford's hold pretty good value. People like the pedigree I suppose.

I do not, I do not like the color or the chrome and think you are paying a mark-up for nothing special. The Bullit is for the Steve McQueen guys.

Plus, the MT82 is total trash compared to the Tremec in the 1LE.

Good luck in your decision OP. Going to be tough without test driving a 1LE. Even test driving an SS if you haven't will help as even that will handle better than the Bullit(PP1).

Not sure ZL1's go for $62k used in Canada?

If so, yeah...no brainer.

I don't know what the US to Canada rates are. But it seems that a Bullitt will be around the same price as a manual trans ZL1 without add-ons. If so then I would go that route instead. Again, it is a GT PP1 with badges on it and a little extra HP.

Depends on your priorities. Resale the Bullitt will be a winner. General performance on the track would be the 1le.

I would say used zl1 but a quick check says there is none available locally. And theyre closer to 100k brand new if anyone is wondering. Not worth it

The people who buy Bullitt's usually do so because they're fans of the movie/McQueen, etc....they're not really about maximum performance for the buck.

They more than likely know they could get more performance for less out of a SS/1LE, a GT PP2, etc..but they're not a Bullitt.

Nostalgia is a funny thing

My only real problem with the Bullitt is the wheels, so ugly.

How can a Bullet at $50,000 msrp be $63,000 in Canada, yet a $63,000 zl1 be near $100,000??

Option out a a ZL1 1LE on the Canadian website. You'll hit 80k BEFORE taxes (MSRP). After sales tax its 90k. No dealer extras. There's also luxury tax as well which scales up the sales tax a smudge higher. And before you know you're scraping at 100k. The OP is from BC so they'll be dealing with ICBC inflated insurance prices. Trust me when I say I been through this struggle. The difference in our calculations might be that I include taxes in my numbers so reality doesn't seem all sunshines and unicorns the dealers play it out to be. But If there's discounts included that's a different story.

I wasn’t including taxes.

You have luxury taxe in addition to sales taxes? Ouch.

Yup. For the ZL1 it'll be an additional 3% for luxury tax. Which is another unnecessary $2500 :| In BC we do get nickle and dimed here a bit more it feels like.

Taxed when you earn money. Taxed when you buy gas to go to the dealership. Taxed when you buy the car. Taxed more because the car is over a certain value. Taxes taxes taxes.
