1LE / ZL1 brakes options upgrade from us SS guys

Other than 4,500$ brembo brake upgrade that some folks have . What options are out there to upgrade from the stock 4-piston brakes to the 6- piston for us 1SS&2SS folks .
Shop chevy has one for $2,200
6 piston upgrade with 380mm rotors , anything else out there?

Wilwood offers a few big brake kits for the cars. There are pros and cons to all brake setups so you will likely find that everyone has "the best" on their car. What are you looking to do with the car?

Since yours is a SS with the drum in hat electronic parking brake in the back, you can change over to any or all of the J6M (SS 1LE) or J6H (ZL1) brakes.

The I4 / V6 cars have a different parking brake set up in the rear which makes it harder to do a direct swap on the rears.

Thanks guys , these cars are fast and even thought the stock brembos work good

I want something that performs outstanding .

I was looking even at upgraded slotted and cross drilled rotors

Wilwood vs brembo

I upgrade to wilwood and I’m not very happy.

Why would you downgrade your brakes on a 1LE??

Sometimes we do stupid thinks! And sometimes we do do huge stupid things... well this was 1 step above that.

I had some small issues with the original brembo brakes and the shop that works on my car recommend “ UPGRADE” this kit.
I was out of town and agree over the phone to “UPGRADE“ my brakes.

Got home decided to call wilwood and order some more aggressive pads for the track.
When the pads arrived I realized the big mistake.

It was to late.
